European Commission highly evaluates work of State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service

In the framework of an official visit to Estonia the Minister of Agrarian policy and Food of Ukraine Ihor Shvayka met with Head of Economic Analysis and International Policy Unit of the European Commission “Prospects of trade relations between EU and eastern neighbors” Willi Shulz-Greve.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the prospects of opening European market for Ukrainian agricultural products, certification issues, in particular in the context of autonomous trade preferences and future free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union. The European party highly evaluated the work of State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine and expressed readiness to cooperate with Ukrainian experts. In addition, a proposition of Ihor Shvayka to attract European specialists and experts to discussion of strategic issues of future development of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service and involvement of European experience in this area was taken positively.
