Oleksandr Sych: Potential of unity of the state is still hidden in archives

We can consolidate the country solely on historical truth, which is still at the bottom of the archives. Our goal is to open at most and facilitate citizens' access to materials that can unite and improve the Ukrainian society. This was started by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych following a meeting on the functioning of the State Archival Service and development of archives.

Vice Prime Minister stressed that the national archives have considerable potential, which requires the systematic state assistance and support. "Having relevant state assistance the State Archival Service not only preserve the national memory, but also ensure effective reform of the humanitarian sector in general," the official said.

During the meeting, experts have raised concerns on the announced by media prospects of reorganization of the State Archival Service.

In turn, Deputy Justice Minister Igor Bondarchuk assured those present in support by his Ministry of ideas of conservation of the State Archival Service’s status - the central executive body.
