Militia and Security Service of Ukraine repulsed attack of separatists

Tonight, units of Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out an operation on the localization of a gang of attackers, numbering about 300 people in response to an attack on a troop’s body of the National Guard in Mariupol. This was started by Interior Minister Arseniy Avakov.

After that as attackers had conducted arson attacks against the troop’s body and lobed fire-based fougade, fired guards, military men of the National Guard opened up a cautionary blast. Then, after a warning in accordance with the statute – after reattack – they opened up fire for effect.

All militia units of Internal Affairs Directorate of Mariupol were alarmed. By joint affords of armed militia and the National Guard after a short battle the gang was dispersed, mostly - localized and disarmed.

Considering such the aggressive attack on troop’s body was, MIA grouping, according to the decision of the Anti-Terrorism Center was supported by special forces "Omega", helicopters were deployed. Now Security Service of Ukraine along with the militia is documenting facts.

The operation continues. Special Forces of the Interior Ministry are pursuing one of the armed gangs. Militia patrols act on streets.

"There are no losses among servants of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Due to preliminary data among attackers - 3 killed, 13 wounded and 63 detained. Weapons, communication and phones of Russian operators are removed. The detained persons are being identified," the Minister said.
