Supplies of natural gas through Polish border begun

On April 15, RWE AG German gas company through its unit RWE Supply&Trading started to supply natural gas to Ukraine. This first batch of gas that "Naftogaz of Ukraine" buys from European suppliers this year.

"Naftogaz of Ukraine has imported natural gas solely from Gazprom in the first quarter of 2014. We continue to negotiate with our Russian colleagues and the company has decided to use other sources of supplies," Chairman of National Joint-Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Management Board Andriy Kobolyev said.

Supplies of gas through Poland to Ukraine carried out according to 5-year framework agreement between "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and RWE Supply&Trading, signed on May 2012. Supplies of RWE to Ukraine based on European principles of pricing, including shipping costs to Ukraine. The agreement provides for the supply of up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.

RWE Supply&Trading has already delivered about 1 billion cubic meters of gas to "Naftogaz of Ukraine" in 2013. Daily capacity to import to "Naftogaz of Ukraine" from Poland is about 4 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. In his official report RWE AG confirms its willingness to increase the supply of gas to Ukraine as soon as transportation restrictions will be lifted on the Slovak-Ukrainian border.
