Acting Foreign
Minister of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia
has received OSCE Chairman, the President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter, who is on a working trip to Ukraine.
The sides discussed
the use of the instruments of the OSCE to resolve the situation in Ukraine
and issues around it because of recent events; it was also pointed out on the
potential of involvement of the OSCE in contributing to the Ukrainian side in
the implementation of constitutional reform and self-government reform.
Ukrainian side
expressed its gratitude to the Swiss Chairmanship for supporting Ukraine's position in resolving the current
crisis and beginning of a special OSCE mission in Ukraine. The sides exchanged views
on the implementation of the proposals and recommendations made as part of the
"National Dialogue" that took place in Ukraine last month.
Acting Minister of
Foreign Affairs A. Deschytsia informed on
preparations for the planned quadripartite negotiations with the involvement of
Ukraine, the Russia, the EU and the U.S. in Geneva.
For his part, Didier Burkhalter expressed readiness
to assist Ukraine
in resolving the current crisis within the framework of the OSCE and on the
mutual basis.
