Oleksandr Sych discussed problems of public broadcasting with heads of NBCU and EBU

On April 8, the working meeting of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych with Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Ingrid Deltenre and Director of the National Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (NBCU) Zurab Alasaniya was held.

The parties discussed the prospects for a comprehensive development of public broadcasting in Ukraine, as well as mechanisms to support these processes by the European institutions.

During the meeting Ingrid Deltenre stressed that the introduction of an independent public broadcasting, which operate in the public interest, promote innovation in the information sector.

By turn, the Vice Prime Minister marked the strategic role of providing wide access of various social groups to the means of mass communication and reducing the impact of state institutions on their activities.

Oleksandr Sych thanked the European Broadcasting Union for supporting reforms in Ukraine in the difficult conditions of post-revolutionary situation and Russian aggression.
