Statement of MFA on Russia's interference in internal affairs of Ukraine

Escalation in some cities of the east and the south of Ukraine is inspired from outside and caused by subversive activity of the Russian Federation.

Groups, guided by the Russian special services involved in provocations.

Aggressive acts that threaten the lives and safety of Ukrainian citizens, activation of separatist forces and participation of Russian citizens in illegal actions are evidence of the intent to implement the second phase of occupation of Ukraine.

Sabotage activity accompanied by large-scale propaganda campaign that cynically distorts facts applies extortion and threats, spreads blatant falsehood and seeks ways to justify interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine.

The escalation of the situation had lead to bloodshed and military confrontation. This cause was planned to use for further aggression.

Nonsense about the presence of "american commandos" to combat actions of rebels had to also blow up the tranquility. These speculations suggest deeply wounded by special operations mindset of the Russian secret services.

The situation has been stabilized today.

Rule of law is ensured by Ukrainian law enforcement officers who strictly within the law act against any anti-state and anti-people attacks. Development of events is under control.

Ukrainian citizens are not yielded to provocations. Our people do not accept and will not accept the idea of separatism and fascism that actively spreading by provocateurs from the Russian special services. The idea of so-called federalization of Ukraine, imposed by Moscow, belongs to the same number of special developments. It is not about federalization, but the "paralyzation" of our country, its economy and opportunities for our citizens.

The fundamental position of the Government of Ukraine is the protection of all democratic rights and freedoms, development of the dialogue of national consensus in the country and providing all compatriots with comprehensive and real opportunities of local self-government, which will allow every citizen of Ukraine to be the master of their own country.
