Lyudmyla Denisova: Government resolves social issues of disabled coal miners

A working meeting with disabled coal miners under the leadership of Minister Lyudmyla Denisova has been held in the building of the Ministry of Social Policy. Its purpose - to solve the problem tasks of pension provision and monthly insurance payments to disabled coal miners and injured at work.

"The joint meeting was held at the request of the miners who came to Kyiv with questions about pension provision, including pension modernization, conservation of ratio of pensions’ size due to living wage increase. Relevant requirements miners voiced on April 1, holding a picket at the Government House," Lyudmyla Denisova said.

During the meeting, the Minister stressed that given the budget deficit, the country is forced to live in austerity. However, she stressed that all forms of state social benefits, including pensions, are not only preserved, but not reduced.

"In this difficult situation, we, first of all, we have to protect the most vulnerable citizens. However, we do not forget those who also needs government support. These are also miners, whose work we honor and respect. Therefore, the Government is doing everything possible to every citizen felt the support of the state," Lyudmyla Denisova said.

Participants agreed that such dialogues will be continued. In addition, it was decided that the mining community organizations will prepare their requirements and wishes.
