Prime Minister chairs first meeting of Governmental Committee

The participants considered and approved a number of draft decisions which will be submitted for considering at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers within nearest time.

Peculiar attention was paid to the social block in the Government’s activity. In particular, the members discussed the project of legislative changes called to improve additional guarantees of social protection to be rendered to the parents having children A subgroup invalids and invalids from birth of the I group A subgroup.

Moreover, the Governmental Committee members approved a draft act on the experiment to introduce a new system of selling the distrained property through electronic auctions. The mentioned draft will enable removing corruption factors in the distrained property system, making it public, transparent and effective.

Besides, the Governmental Committee representatives backed a resolution on creating of Expert-analytical council for participation of the country in bank capitalization and approving of provisions of the council. Throughout the meeting the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk commissioned the Finance Ministry and Internal Affairs Ministry to conduct revision of documents related to holding of such operations during the period from 2008.

With the Act “On creating of governmental committees and approval of their official composition” dated March 19, 2014, the following committees shall be set up: Governmental Committee for the social and economic development and European integration (chairman – Prime Minister of Ukraine), Governmental Committee for the defense, military industrial complex and law enforcement activities (chairman – First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine), Governmental Committee for the regional development (chairman – Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Regional Development, Building and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine), Governmental Committee for the humanitarian development (chairman – Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine).

The committees are comprised of ministers or deputy ministers, heads of central executive authorities, Parliament’s members, commissioners of national trade unions and employer organizations.
