Environment Minister Andriy Mokhnyk held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart

On behalf of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Andriy Mokhnyk held the first telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart - Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy.

"I would like to express the concern of the Ukrainian Government on the facts of ships flooding in the Black Sea area, posing a potential environmental hazard not only for Ukraine but also for the entire region. In connection with this I would ask you, dear colleague, to heed this issue in order to prevent the negative impact of these actions on the environment. I hope that the Russian side will properly consider this incident and make a decision to prevent such action in the future", Andriy Mokhnyk emphasized.

The head of the national Ministry of Environment has said that the range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the field of ecology and environmental management is broad and has great potential for expansion. "I am convinced that the contradictions at the political level will be settled through a dialogue that will pave the way for the potential development of bilateral cooperation. The Ukrainian Ministry of Environment is ready to continue a dialogue and cooperation with Russian colleagues", Andriy Mokhnyk underlined.
