Ukraine is ready to transparent negotiations with the Russian Federation and the reconstruction of a new type of relationship
Ukraine is ready to transparent negotiations with Russia and the
reconstruction of a new type of relations between Ukraine and Russia, in which
Russia recognizes the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of
Ukraine, the PM said from the parliamentary rostrum on Tuesday, March 11.
The Prime Minister has said that today he departs for the U.S. in order to
hold a series of high-level meetings, including one with U.S. President Barack Obama. "The USA is a guarantor
country that signed the Budapest Memorandum. Both the USA and the entire Western world, very clearly and firmly maintain the territorial
integrity and inviolability of the Ukrainian state and urge Russia, as a member
of the Budapest Memorandum, to comply immediately with international treaties
and agreements, to stop the military aggression and sit down at the table of
negotiations. "
"On behalf of the Ukrainian Government I declare that Ukraine is ready
to transparent negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and to rebuild a new
type of relations between Ukraine and Russia," the PM emphasized.
A. Yatseniuk underlined that this new type of
relationship should provide “Russia to recognize the sovereignty, independence
and territorial integrity of Ukraine, recognize Ukraine's course towards
European integration, where we in bilateral relations not only sign
obligations, but also perform them, and where Russia ceases to capture through military
aggression the territory of the independent sovereign state, which it used to
call the “brotherly nation””.
