Yurii Prodan: Interference with operation of Crimean energy system can have negative impact
During a
briefing held on March 3, 2014 at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Minister of Energy
and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yurii Prodan expressed worry with regards to the attempts of
taking by force the Chornomornaftogaz enterprise, as
it can lead to complete electricity cutoff on the territory of Crimean
Autonomous Republic.

“I would
say such actions can carry rather hard consequences. They could lead to
technogenic catastrophes, electricity cutoffs of Crimea. Hence I want to
declare that the organizers will be liable for all those consequences
following interference with operation of the energy system of the Crimean
Autonomy,” Yurii Prodan
stressed. Moreover,
the Minister stressed that over the recent days there had been tackled
alleged electricity cutoffs in Crimea: “In the recent days representatives of
RF Government have been holding talks with Ukrainian energy supply companies
with regards to connecting autonomous electricity sources to the electric
system of the Crimean peninsula. Unfortunately, certain propositions to disconnect
the Crimean energy system are heard at these meetings”. |
