S.Arbuzov: Difficult circumstances should not hinder economy of the country

Today the country through the political process is in a very difficult economic position. Therefore, the goal of the Government is to ensure the well-being of every citizen and the state. Despite these circumstances, each Ministry or department has to continue to work and provide normal coordination for continuous operation of cities and other settlements.

I want to assure the public that even while on sick leave, I try to manage the still acting Cabinet of Ministers knowing the extremely complex conditions prevailing in the country's economy after exhausting political struggles. Admittedly, due to the prolonged political confrontations, now the credit ratings of Ukraine fell down to per-default, investors lost the interest in national business and are playing a waiting game thus far. Due to the difficult situation budget revenue and currency indicators decreased. Therefore, it is important to join efforts in order to stabilize the economy. Otherwise, the country may find itself in an environment where businesses would stop, people would no longer receive wages, and state would not have means to fulfill even the minimum package of social programs.

Thus the implementation of social programs can be named as a priority, because despite the political crisis, the Government, through coordinated efforts of individual ministries, until now it has been managed to ensure timely receipt of pensions, stipends and other benefits. This practice should be continued, regardless of what executive power the state will receive soon.

In addition, demonstration of legal succession is important to continue the dialogue with our external partners. First of all, it is about the International Monetary Fund. It is also about the implementation of agreements reached last year with Russia and China. After all, the economy needs investment, those investments that have actually agreed with these partners, so you should proceed with getting promised finance.

Of course, in a democracy state has always opposition. And all our experience we are ready to use as in the coalition government, and in the proposals of experts of the currently existing government to stabilize the financial and economic processes, prevent further failures and the suspension of the negative trends in the economy and social sphere of the country. I personally have been out of politics for years, dealing with economic issues, from managing the National Bank, to the preparation and approval of European integration agreements and temporary heading the Government. I am sure that this experience can be used for the benefit of Ukraine. Thank you for your possible confidence.

I’m confident that by combining our efforts we will be able to stabilize the economy and get out of the crisis.
