Serhiy Arbuzov: Agrarian sector to preserve leading positions in filling the State Budget
In 2014 the agroindustrial complex will preserve the leading positions with
reagrds to filling the State Budget and flows of foreign currency to Ukraine.
The acting Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov announced.

“In the
current year we expect croppage in the amount of
over 62 million tons which almost equals last year’s record yield. At the
same time the world conjuncture gives all grounds to hope for correction of
prices for grain crops towards increasing. It means on the results of the
year the agrarian sector has all the opportunities to preserve the leading
positions in filling the State Budget and flows of currency earnings to
Ukraine,” the acting Prime Minister stressed. According to Serhiy Arbuzov, despite thaw
the present state of winter crops is satisfactory. In whole, the acting
head of the Government considers the winter weather conditions will
facilitate good yield this year. In this connection
he stressed on the need to provide agrarians with equipment, fuel and
lubricant materials, plant protective means and fertilizers targeting to
prepare to the spring field works. “Reducing of prices
for gas has to significantly influence the price of fertilizers and
facilitate resuming of work of chemical plants. In this year the Government
plans to buy through the Agrarian fund around 60 thousand tons of
fertilizers. I hope their price won’t exceed UAH 3360 per ton,” S. Arbuzov added. The acting Prime
Minister noted that the Government was working on drawing of additional funds
from American Eximbank to Ukragroleasing
company aiming to provide the agrarians with available equipment. Assessing export
prospects of products of the agrarian industrial complex Serhiy
Arbuzov noted that in the current year Ukraine
would enlarge the geography of its sales markets. According to him, in
2014 export will stir up in the Asian direction, in particular at the new for
the national agrarians markets of Japan, South Korea, China.
