Government supports simplification of border crossing procedure with Moldova and Slovakia
Today the Cabinet of Ministers has approved an order On submission for
ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Protocol on making changes
to the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Moldova on railway
transport and On signing the Agreement on making changes and amendments to the
Agrement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Slovakia on
railway communication via the state border.

Vice
Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul noted: “The Government conducts system work to
make Ukrainian transport corridors competitive and attractive for those who
travel to Europe or CIS countries and deeper east, as well as for the
transport companies which will be interested in increasing of cargo flows
just through Ukrainian railways, ports and motor roads”. “The Agreements
with Moldova and Slovakia that significantly simplify the procedures of
crossing the borders by railways will afford to make conveyance of passengers
and cargoes significantly easier and much more comfortable,” Olexandr Vilkul
said. In particular,
the Government will suggest the Verkhovna Rada to back an international
document on simplifying of movement of transit trains across Ukraine and
Moldova. Pursuant to the provisions of the Protocol it is envisaged to
improve the conditions of railway conveyance – to simplify railway crossing of
Ukrainian-Moldovan border. Meanwhile,
between Ukraine and Slovakia there will be simplified the procedure of
crossing of the state border by the railroad workers of the two sides in the
course of performing their duties. |
