Transport link with all inhabited localities resumed

On the task of the Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul, in order to liquidate the consequences of bad weather conditions communal workers, road workers, rescuers and other services are operating all day round. Throughout the last three days power supply has been restored in 10 inhabited localities, in particular repair activities have been completed in Mykolayiv region. Repair brigades have lifted up 267 power transmission poles over this time. Now the activities are on in 15 inhabited localities of Odessa region, which was the epicenter of bad weather and the power supply system suffered the most damage. Targeting to restore power supply to the residents of Odessa region 119 power engineering brigades are operating in an intensified mode including 646 workers and 224 machinery units. Additional repair brigades from Kherson and Kirovohrad region have been relocated to the region. The Government spares no effort to restore power supply to the people’s homes, Minister of Regional Development, Building, Housing and Communal Services Hennadiy Temnyk stressed.

On the data of Ukrautodor traffic of transport is stable on all public roads. Overall since the start of complication of weather Ukrautodor services cleaned up 32 public roads where the traffic had been ceased, complicated or suspended, namely: Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Mykolayiv regions. Moreover, there were cleaned up roads to 829 inhabited localities in 9 regions: Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolayiv, Kirovohrad, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Volyn regions.

According to the State Emergency Service, despite certain increase of weather temperatures, in the regions there continue functioning over 5 thousand warming stations. Only throughout last 24 hours over 1 thousand people have received assistance in them and from the start of severe frosts – over 68 thousand people. Apart from that, 1 thousand social patrols continue duty rounds during which they render aid to people and, if needed, take them to the warming stations or medical institutions.  

Overall, from the start of severe frosts 1605 inhabited localities in 17 regions have suffered blackouts as a result of complicated weather conditions. But at the account of clear coordination of work of all the services the largest number of breakage was immediately liquidated.
