O.Vilkul: Electricity restored in more than 1503 settlements from the beginning of severe frosts

in the settlements of the country and heating of the city of
"Even before the
cold weather by the instructions of the Government rescuers, utilities, crew of
power companies have been put in twenty-four-hour medium security for stable
operation of life support systems. Weather conditions are difficult -
temperature is minus 23 degrees Celsius during the day and down to minus 33
degrees at night, there was a strong wind of 30 m/sec, blizzards and sleet
snow.
This caused the
electric impulses in 1605 settlements in 17 regions. However, due to the
efficient coordination of work, including deployment of forces and means to the
most troubled regions, most of impulses were liquidated overnight. In general, from
the beginning of the cold weather electricity has been restored in 1503 settlements.
The works are being continued in 102 settlements. 1830 people and 574 units of
machinery were attracted to repair works on the instructions of the Government,"
Olexandr Vilkul said.
