Activation of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in energy discussed

Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavytskyi
met with Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Olexandr Novak.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the issues
of cooperation in energy area, in particular, they
emphasized the importance of the understandings achieved in the course of the
6-th meeting of Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission in December of 2013. Eduard
Stavytskyi accentuated the significance the constructive
cooperation in export of power energy has commenced to the adjacent to
Ukraine areas of the Russian Federation. Moreover, the Minister aired the
need to stir up the relations in implementation of the decisions of the eleventh
meeting of the subcommission for fuel and energy complex,
in particular realization of the Agreement on joint development of the Pallas
structure on the Black Sea shelf of Ukraine and deepening cooperation in the framework
of the signed in 2010 Roadmap of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in hydro
power. “Such projects
will facilitate the development of mutually beneficial Ukrainian-Russian
cooperation in fuel and energy complex,” Eduard Stavytskyi
stressed. On the
outcomes of the meeting the parties adopted a decision to continue search of
principles and mechanisms of mutually beneficial cooperation in gas area,
facilitate maintaining reliable and uninterrupted transportation of oil by the
territory of Ukraine, focus attention on the programs of technical re-equipment
and reconstruction of the functioning hydro-power stations and designing, building
and putting in exploitation of the new hydroelectric stations and hydroelectric
pumped storage power plant, and to cooperate in production, supply,
assembling and exploitation of main and additional equipment of hydroelectric
stations etc. It should
be noted through January 30-31 a Ukrainian delegation led by the Minister of
Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavytskyi
visits Moscow, the Russian Federation. |
