MIA: Law on amnesty of protesters is an effective step towards a compromise

The Ministry of Internal Affairs considers the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the Law of Ukraine “On elimination of negative impacts and prevent prosecution and punishment of persons on the events that took place during peaceful gatherings” an important and effective step towards conflict resolution and termination of military confrontation on Hrushevskoho street in Kyiv.

Law enforcement officers showed restraint and stability during attacks on police and soldiers of internal troops, despite the fact that they were flew stones and fireworks and they were set fire by "Molotov cocktail", they were shot by the air and traumatic weapon.

Representatives of the international community marked professional and discreet actions of the militia during the confrontation on Hrushevskoho Street and called for compromise, suspension of force and unblocking office buildings.

Detained by police participants of riots on Hrushevskoho Street are not peaceful protesters, but people that suspected in serious crimes - attacks on police officers, riots and more.

The Government is aware that many of them were subjected to emotions or followed in the wake of radicals. Therefore, to stop the confrontation, was developed law does not prevent peaceful protests, but will stop the violence and release tension in society.
