Annual national program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO for 2014 is approved

On January 15, 2014 the draft Annual National Program for NATO-Ukraine cooperation for 2014 has been approved at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on June 12, 2013 and to implement the provisions of the Law of Ukraine on the Basis of national and foreign policy, particularly, in terms of continuing constructive partnership with NATO on all matters of mutual interest the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine prepared the draft annual national program for NATO-Ukraine 2014.

Draft Annual National Program 2014, which is proposed to adopt by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, is the quintessence of promising areas of the ministries and departments of Ukraine and provides information on the key objectives of our country on the path of reform.

The document identifies areas of activity in the economic and energy sectors, measures to combat corruption, reform the defense and security institutions, and includes tasks aimed at strengthening cooperation with international and regional organizations.

The implementation of annual national programs of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO is one of the important practical tools involving relevant international best practices for the internal reforms and planned mechanism for maintaining the proper level of constructive partnership with NATO.
