MFA: Ukraine takes note of the U.S. Senate resolution on Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has taken note of the U.S. Senate resolution, adopted on January 7, 2014.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine considers the adoption of the resolution as a sign of support for the European choice of our country and its democratic development. The Government of Ukraine remains committed to the strategic course towards European integration and continuation of democratic reforms.

Call of the upper house of the U.S. Congress to all sides of the political process in Ukraine is to refrain from using force and maintain a dialogue of national reconciliation is fully consistent with approaches of the Government of Ukraine. And the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych calls for this kind of dialogue to ensure stability in the country; he have condemned the use of force on the part of law enforcement agencies and individual protesters.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasizes the readiness of the Ukrainian side to continue to develop a constructive and mutually beneficial relationship with the United States. We are ready to hold open dialogue in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, including on European integration issue.
