Mykola Azarov opens base for training Olympic athletes in water sports in Brovary

Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has opened a reconstructed base for training of Olympic athletes in water sports in Brovary.

“It is especially pleasant that despite rather hard economic conditions we put in exploitation such extremely significant objects. They are needed not only for the Olympic sportsmen but for the children and youth,” Mykola Azarov emphasized.

The works on reconstruction of the pool that had commenced in 2007 were suspended in 2009 in connection with the absence of financing. By that time construction readiness of the object made up 16%. Targeting to complete the works the Government allocated UAH 13 mln in 2011, UAH 10 mln in 2012 and UAH 10 mln in 2013.

After reconstruction the basin is a pool that enables to hold sport competitions and training of Olympic, Paralympic sportsmen, to teach children swimming.
