Winter support of UAH 6,500: over 370,000 Ukrainians receive funds

This year, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity introduced a one-time assistance programme of UAH 6,500 for the most vulnerable categories of the population.

A special feature of this programme is that it covers four categories of children: children under 18 in low-income families, internally displaced children who receive living assistance for internally displaced persons, children under guardianship or care, children with disabilities who are in family-type children's homes, and foster families – were eligible for this assistance.

A total of 463,671 applications were submitted, of which 385,170 were approved. For those who have had their applications approved but have not yet received payment, the funds will be transferred within 10 days.

The state has already financed more than 381,346 applications for a total of over UAH 2.5 billion. People who have received assistance are already spending the funds.

For example, 252,278 transactions were made for the purchase of clothing, and 19,951 for footwear. 42,037 transactions were made for the purchase of children's clothing. Another 80,341 purchases were made in pharmacy chains.

As a reminder, the programme started on 21 November and lasted until 17 December. The payments are earmarked and can be spent on clothing, footwear and medicines for six months.
