Ukraine has had a grant programme supporting processing enterprises for two years. It has created more than 17,000 new jobs. The programme is part of the Made in Ukraine policy for the development of Ukrainian producers and is aimed at modernising the equipment fleet.
The Ministry of Economy has now transferred a new tranche of UAH 29.9 million to six winners who applied for grants to develop or set up production facilities from 24 August to 6 September. In total, more than UAH 850 million has already been allocated to finance the programme in 2024.
The programme covers companies from various manufacturing industries, including woodworking, metalworking, food processing, printing, construction equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Entrepreneurs can receive grants of up to UAH 8 million for the purchase of technological equipment, including machine tools, spray booths, production lines, as well as for the delivery and commissioning of equipment. A 50% co-financing is required. For businesses from the de-occupied territories or those operating in the defence sector, the state will compensate up to 80% of the project cost.
Since its launch in July 2022, the programme has approved 1,039 grant decisions worth UAH 5.23 billion. This has helped modernise equipment, create thousands of jobs and support the economy in wartime.
“The development of the processing industry is a strategic direction of the Made in Ukraine economic policy. The grant programme enables businesses to upgrade equipment, launch modern production lines and create thousands of jobs. This not only stimulates the economy but also contributes to Ukraine’s integration into global production chains,” said Andrii Teliupa, Deputy Minister of Economy.
