Strengthening labour market resilience: Ministry of Economy to collaborate with Belgian agency for international cooperation Enabel
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine will collaborate with the Belgian agency for international cooperation Enabel to modernise and enhance the resilience of Ukraine’s labour market and employment system. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Enabel CEO Jean Van Wetter, and Enabel’s Ukraine Director Dirk Deprez.
The Memorandum was concluded within the framework of the BE-Relieve Ukraine Programme to support Ukraine’s post-war recovery and European integration policies.
Under the agreement, Enabel will provide support to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in the following areas:
- Enhancing the analytical capacity of the Ministry of Economy;
- Implementing active labour market policies and supporting the State Employment Service;
- Promoting youth employment and adopting European employment practices;
- Facilitating information exchange and consultations.
Background
The Belgian agency for international cooperation Enabel coordinates over 200 projects in more than 20 countries worldwide. In Ukraine, on behalf of the Belgian Government, Enabel implements the BE-Relieve Ukraine initiative. This programme, with a budget of EUR 150 million, focuses on energy, construction, healthcare, education, and skills development.
