Through the redistribution of state budget expenditures, the Government has allocated over UAH 21 million in additional funds for the social protection of persons deprived of their personal liberty as a result of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories is the main spending unit of the programme.
The money will be used to pay annual state benefits to people who have been deprived of their personal liberty as a result of the armed aggression against Ukraine, or to their family members whilst they are in detention.
These funds will also be used to provide military and civilian prisoners with packages of basic necessities that they receive immediately after their release.
