
In the first two months of 2025, Ukrainians received more than 58,500 rehabilitation aids
According to the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities, in January-February 2025, 18,600 Ukrainians received more than 58,500 assistive rehabilitation devices (ARDs) as part of the state prosthetics programme. More than UAH 650 million was allocated from the state budget for this purpose.
The following regions received the most rehabilitation equipment:
- Dnipropetrovsk region (4,889 rehabilitation aids were provided to 1,480 people);
- Zhytomyr region (4,782 rehabilitation equipment for 1,579 people);
- Lviv region (4,340 rehabilitation aids were distributed to 1,384 people);
- Kharkiv region (4,090 rehabilitation equipment for 1,244 people);
- Ternopil region (4,058 rehabilitation aids were provided to 1,134 people).
Among the most popular rehabilitation equipment:
• means of transport (wheelchairs);
• footwear
• breast prostheses;
• furniture, canes, walkers;
• prosthetic and orthopaedic products.
To get a prosthesis or other rehabilitation device in Ukraine, one first need to submit an application for such a need. This can be done both online and in person at one of the nearest authorised institutions in the community.
