The Government has decided to direct UAH 1.5 billion in subvention funding towards the arrangement and purchase of housing for internally displaced persons. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, UAH 1 billion will be allocated for the repair and refitting of temporary accommodation sites. “It is important that 20% of all refurbished premises must be accessible for people with disabilities and less mobile population groups,” the Prime Minister noted.

UAH 500 million is earmarked for the purchase of houses in rural areas. “The mechanism for purchasing such housing will be approved within a month of the resolution coming into force,” Yulia Svyrydenko added.

The Prime Minister also stated that the subvention funds can be used to buy building materials and modular homes to create modular settlements in frontline regions.

Frontline regions will be able to receive the subvention at 100% from the state budget.

For other regions, co-financing is provided: 90% from the state budget and 10% from local budgets.
