The Government is allocating an additional UAH 10.8 billion for the procurement and production of weapons. The funds were accumulated in the special fund of the state budget and redirected to defence needs, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced.

UAH 9 billion will be allocated directly to the procurement of new weapons, as well as the repair and modernisation of equipment. A further nearly UAH 2 billion will support the development of Ukraine’s defence industry, including scaling up production and rapidly implementing technologies developed directly on the battlefield.

The funds were accumulated through personal income tax revenues, as well as licence fees from the gambling and lottery sectors.

“All domestic resources are being directed towards supporting the Defence Forces,” the Head of Government stated. “Ukrainian service members and defence manufacturers are together carrying out a genuine technological revolution recognised by both our allies and our enemy. The Government is doing everything possible to support these changes and help rapidly scale up new technologies.”
