Yulia Svyrydenko marks Ukrainian Statehood Day

Ukrainian statehood is the result of centuries of struggle for the right to exist and independently determine our own future. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko marked Ukrainian Statehood Day.

“Time and again, attempts have been made to deprive us of our name, language, history and memory. But Ukraine has endured. Thanks to the people who, in different eras, defended, built and developed it, and passed this legacy on to future generations. That is the strength of our state – it rests on extraordinary and courageous people,” the Prime Minister said.

Today, our defenders continue to protect Ukraine with weapons in their hands. Millions of Ukrainians strengthen the country every day – in the Armed Forces, healthcare, education, culture, volunteering, public service and through their everyday work. Thanks to them, Ukraine lives on and has a future.

“It is a great honour for me to receive a state award from the President of Ukraine on this very day – the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise. It is a great responsibility. I am grateful for the opportunity to work for the benefit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” Yulia Svyrydenko stressed.
