Yulia Svyrydenko: During its off-site meeting, Government redistributed funds for critical infrastructure projects in the regions

Today, the Government has had an off-site meeting in Zaporizhzhia. As a result, a series of decisions were approved on the redistribution of funds for critical infrastructure projects in the regions, including those near the frontline. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Cabinet of Ministers directed UAH 40 million to the reconstruction of the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Hospital. Another UAH 30 million was allocated to the Kharkiv Regional Children's Hospital, in particular, for the construction of an elevator shaft for patients with limited mobility as well as major repairs to the reception department.

In addition, an educational subsidy of UAH 30.96 million was provided from the special fund of the State Budget to complete the construction of anti-radiation shelters for two educational institutions in Zaporizhzhia region – in the village of Komyshuvakha and the city of Vilniansk.

"Safe conditions for children's education are among the Government's priorities," Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.

Also, UAH 147.8 million was allocated from the reserve fund of the State Budget for the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.

"These funds will be used to help residents of the village of Berezyna who were affected by the explosion at the enterprise on 2 July this year. At that time, about 236 property objects were damaged, 46 of which were completely destroyed. Two people were killed and more than 80 were injured. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and those affected," said the Head of Government.

The Zhytomyr Regional State Administration has to agree on the list of expenses with the relevant ministries within three days and report on the use of funds by 26 December 2025.

Over UAH 460 million has been allocated separately for educational institutions.

• Some UAH 125 million has been earmarked for the purchase of generators, batteries (charging stations) and inverters. These purchases are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the educational process and critical systems at universities, colleges and state schools.
• UAH 334.5 million has been budgeted for measures to ensure the timely payment of utilities and energy. This will enable higher education institutions and colleges to get through the heating season without cash flow gaps as well as maintain basic operational stability: heat, water, electricity and communications.

An additional UAH 5.1 million has been allotted to the Junior Academy of Sciences (JAS) to provide backup power and stable operation during power outages.

"The funds will be used to purchase equipment for eight JAS locations. Charging stations, energy independence kits and diesel generators will be purchased for these purposes. This will allow equipment to continue operating during power outages, particularly in places where generators are not practical," said Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Ministry of Education and Science shall coordinate the use of funds in accordance with budget allocations and current procurement procedures, as well as monitor their intended use.
