Yulia Svyrydenko: 3,000 families have purchased homes under the state programme to support internally displaced persons

3,000 families have purchased homes under the state programme to support internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko. 

According to the Head of Government, the first phase of the programme involves providing housing vouchers to internally displaced persons who have left the temporarily occupied territories and have the status of combatants or persons with war-related disabilities.

“Since 1 May, the largest number of homes purchased using housing vouchers has been in the Kyiv region — over 500 vouchers worth more than UAH 1 billion have already been used there. Other leading regions include the Dnipropetrovsk region — 342 vouchers worth UAH 682.8 million, the Odesa region — 298 vouchers worth UAH 595.8 million, and the city of Kyiv — 275 vouchers worth UAH 549.6 million,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Over 88 per cent of the housing purchased consists of flats, with a further 10 per cent comprising private houses. 

In total, over 41,000 applications have been submitted to participate in the programme. More than 33,000 of these have already been reviewed and approved by local commissions.

In the first phase of funding, 3,296 applications for the reservation of housing vouchers, totalling UAH 6.59 billion, have been approved.

“We are working to secure additional funding so that as many Ukrainian families as possible can have the opportunity to buy their own homes under the Housing for IDPs from the Temporarily Occupied Territories component of the eVidnovlennia programme,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
