eRobota: UAH 12 billion invested by the state in the development of small and medium-sized businesses through grants
The state has invested UAH 12 billion in the development of small and medium-sized businesses through the eRobota grant programme. Almost 25,000 entrepreneurs received financial support to start or develop their business. Grantees have already returned 75% of the invested funds in the form of taxes and fees paid to the budget. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Almost 25,000 entrepreneurs have received grant support to start or develop their business under the government project eRobota. In total, the Government has invested UAH 12 billion in the development of small and medium-sized businesses through grants. Thanks to this support, entrepreneurs have launched thousands of companies, scaled up their businesses, increased production of goods and services, entered new markets, and created more than 65,000 jobs. The grantees have already paid over UAH 9 billion in taxes and fees to the budget,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
Since the launch of the eRobota project in July 2022:
- 22,488 microgrants worth UAH 5.3 billion have been issued under the Vlasna Sprava programme;
- 926 grants worth UAH 4.6 billion have been issued for the development of processing enterprises;
- 268 grants worth UAH 1.3 billion have been issued for horticulture and greenhouse development;
- 1,122 grants worth UAH 525 million have been issued to veterans and their families.
Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can receive a grant to start or develop a business. Grant applications can be submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. To receive a microgrant of more than UAH 75,000 under the Vlasna Sprava programme, a prerequisite for receiving funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant, and for other programmes – the creation of up to several dozen jobs. Ukrainians under the age of 25 can receive a grant of up to UAH 150,000 with an obligation to register as an individual entrepreneur, but they are not required to create jobs. The grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees paid in the course of the company’s operations over a period of three years. Information on how to apply for a grant under the Vlasna Sprava programme can be found on the programme website.
