    Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, posted 07 October 2024 11:06

    21,000 entrepreneurs have received grants to start or develop their business under the Government’s eRobota project. For more than two years of the project, the state has invested UAH 10 billion in entrepreneurship through grants. Grant recipients have already returned more than UAH 4 billion through taxes and fees paid to the budget. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

    “21,000 entrepreneurs have benefited from the eRobota grant programmes that we launched more than two years ago to support and stimulate the development of small and medium-sized businesses. During this time, the state has invested a total of UAH 10 billion in their projects through grants. Thanks to grant support, entrepreneurs have opened thousands of new companies, increased production, expanded the range of products and services, mastered new business areas and established themselves in new markets. They also created about 60,000 jobs in all regions of the country. Businesses are working, developing, paying taxes and strengthening our economy. Grant recipients have already returned more than UAH 4 billion invested by the state to the budget through taxes and fees paid,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

    Since the launch of the eRobota project in July 2022:

    • 19,000 microgrants worth UAH 4.5 billion have been issued under the Vlasna Sprava programme;
    • 779 grants worth UAH 3.9 billion have been issued for the development of processing enterprises;
    • 240 grants worth UAH 1.1 billion have been issued for horticulture and greenhouse development;
    • 1,036 grants worth UAH 481 million have been issued to veterans and their families.

    Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can apply for a grant. Applications can be submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan.

    A prerequisite for receiving a grant is the creation of new jobs – from 1-2 in the case of a microgrant to several dozen in the case of grants under other programmes. The grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees paid in the course of the company’s operations over a period of three years.

    Background

    As a reminder, the eRobota project was launched by the Government in July 2022 to support businesses and stimulate job creation. It includes several grant programmes. These include microgrants for starting or developing one’s own business, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, and grants for planting orchards, viticulture, and greenhouses.
