  • eOselia: Ukrainians have taken mortgage loans worth UAH 6 billion since the beginning of the year

    Since the beginning of 2024, 3,400 Ukrainian families have taken out loans for the purchase of housing under the eOselia (eHousing) programme for a total of almost UAH 6 billion. 30% of them were used to buy first sale housing. In total, 9,757 families have taken out loans worth more than UAH 15 billion since the start of the programme. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Nadiia Bihun.

    “Over the four months of this year, more than 3,400 Ukrainians have already taken out loans under the eOselia programme for the purchase of housing totalling almost UAH 6 billion. 3,300 families will buy apartments and 122 will buy private houses. 30% of the loans under the programme were issued for the purchase of so-called first sale housing – ready-made from the developer or under construction. In total, almost 10,000 families have already taken out mortgage loans worth more than UAH 15 billion since the start of the programme,” Nadiia Bihun said.

    Last week, Ukrainians received 264 loans for UAH 467 million under the eOselia programme, including

    • 124 service members and law enforcement officers, 23 teachers, 17 doctors and 1 scientist received loans at 3%;
    • 81 Ukrainians without their own housing, 9 IDPs and 9 veterans received loans at 7%.

    Most often, loans were taken out to purchase housing on the secondary market (183 loans), while 81 Ukrainians took out a loan to buy first sale housing.

    Most mortgage loans were taken out by residents of:

    • Kyiv region – 71
    • Kyiv city – 59;
    • Rivne region – 15;
    • Lviv region – 14.

    Today, the affordable lending programme is available to representatives of certain professions and citizens who do not own housing or want to improve its conditions. For contract service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, teachers, doctors and scientists, the preferential rate is 3% per annum. For other categories – combatants, veterans, IDPs and other citizens – the mortgage rate is 7%.

    Background

    The eOselia programme was launched in October 2022. The programme is implemented by the Ministry of Economy jointly with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ukrfinzhytlo. The partner banks of the eOselia are Oschadbank, Privatbank, Ukrgasbank, Globus Bank, Sky Bank, Ukreximbank, Sense Bank and Bank Credit Dnipro.
