
eCherha: One million border crossings since the launch of the service
According to the records in the eCherha (eQueue) system, 927,000 truck crossings and almost 81,000 bus crossings were registered. This covers the period from December 2022, when eCherha started operating at the largest border crossing point Yahodyn-Dorohusk, to May this year, when the service was launched at all key border crossing points for buses and trucks.
The largest number of vehicles, 551,000, crossed the border with Poland. More than 180,000 – with Romania; more than 120,000 – with Moldova; 102,000 – with Hungary; and almost 54,000 – with Slovakia.
In total, more than 100,000 unique users from different countries – drivers and carriers – have registered in the system. The eCherha app has been downloaded over 84,000 times.
Background
The Electronic Border Crossing Queue project is being implemented by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukrtransbezpeka, the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, the State Customs Service and the State Border Guard Service with the support of the USAID / UK aid Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services (TAPAS) project. The project partner is the East Europe Foundation.
