On May 4, that is since it was announced about the start of the partial unemployment program, the number of submitted packages of documents for financial assistance has already reached 6,873. Processing takes place on a daily basis and as of today, 1,715 positive decisions have been made, which will provide benefits for 25,777 employees. Another 3,339 packages of documents are under consideration and applications are being accepted.

“In the first week of announcing the partial unemployment benefits program alone, almost 7,000 employers have applied for such assistance. Every day this figure is growing by about a thousand new applications. The program aims to help small and medium-sized businesses cover the cost of wages for workers who have had their working hours reduced, thus saving jobs. In total, UAH 4.7 billion has been allocated for this program. If we understand that more funds are needed, we will add through redistribution of funds,” commented Ihor Petrashko, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

To submit documents and receive partial unemployment benefits, employers should apply to the employment center at the place of single social contribution payment.

Background

Financial assistance from the Compulsory State Social Insurance Fund in case of unemployment in the amount of UAH 6 billion is provided by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 27.04.2020 № 308. The resource will be spent in two directions: partial unemployment benefit - UAH 4.723 billion and unemployment benefit UAH 1.277 billion.
