A Build Back Better principle is one of the main pillars of recovery. During its session, the Government approved a resolution determining six settlements where the restoration will be carried out comprehensively and according to new principles within the framework of a pilot project. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The selected settlements are Borodianka and Moshchun in the Kyiv region, Trostyanets in the Sumy region, Posad-Pokrovske in the Kherson region, Tsyrkuny in the Kharkiv region and Yahidne in the Chernihiv region.

"All these locations have suffered terrible damage. Now they will be restored comprehensively. This means that not only individual buildings and structures will be rebuilt, but everything will be reconstructed with applying a systematic approach, new planning and complete transformation of these settlements," the Head of Government stressed.

At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed that the implementation of the pilot project did not mean that the restoration would not affect other settlements.

"Reconstruction is already underway across the country. This document is about finding the most effective approaches that will ensure transparency, efficiency, consistency and speed of recovery simultaneously," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Head of Government, the Rapid Recovery Plan for this year has five priorities, and at the same time, it includes hundreds of different projects, hundreds of cities and towns where it will be implemented: "It is critical for us that Ukrainians can see this year that reconstruction is a reality. This gives hope and faith in a better future."
