Volodymyr Groysman: We propose to enshrine the status of consolidated community for small towns in a separate bill
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman initiates the drafting of the law that will enable the small towns and cities of regional subordinance to have the fixed status of consolidated communities (CCs) and, as a result, to get all the opportunities for the development of CCs that capable communities are having today. The issues at stake are financial resources and administrative powers. The Head of Government made this statement at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"There is a need to support small towns – district centers and cities of regional subordinance that do not have the required support. We initiate drafting a law that will enable small cities to get the status of CCs. This will give them independence from district administrations and will provide an opportunity to start solving problems of people before the final stage of amalgamation," Volodymyr Groysman said.
Apart from that, the Prime Minister commissioned Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services to work out mechanisms for targeted support of small towns and cities of regional subordinance
