Stability in the country is of the topmost significance, elections are the mandate of people's trust while clinging to positions is a way to nowhere. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman told in the Freedom of Speech program.
"For me, stability within the country is of the highest value, and I have never clung to the positions", said Volodymyr Groysman. "Now I can see a unique window of opportunities ... What is our mission and what is the expectation of Ukrainians? Make our country stronger! We have had a unique opportunity to combine our efforts, determine priorities and adopt important and long-awaited solutions. Is it possible? I believe it’s possible!"
The Head of Government stressed that the agenda contains consolidating of the decentralization reform, adopting a package of laws under the Association Agreement with the EU, adopting about 30 laws that will affect the economy and can give a powerful impetus.
"For these purposes, we could have found support", said Volodymyr Groysman. "Why need we gain power?" To promote ideas. I felt certain that we had opened up the window of opportunities. And it was possible to adopt urgent decisions within a week ... But the President came out and said that it was necessary to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada and let the Government resign."
The Prime Minister stressed that over the past three years, the country had developed a sufficient safety cushion that allows for changes. We are talking about reducing the public debt, building up an industrial capacity.
"In May, we paid off $2.7 billion. Did somebody feel it? No! The situation is under control. Monthly, we have to pay off debts - these are serious challenges. At that, I did not allow any delay in payments on debts. There is no delay in the payment for the purposes of the army", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I am not ashamed to look people in the face, and this means a lot to me."
However, the PM noted that it was impossible to build a new quality basing on old decisions. That is why it is vital to think about the updating of both the decision-making system and the system of formation of Parliament as the key element of the decision-making.
"We live in the world with reality challenges. And I will exert every effort to achieve that at least part of the Parliament consisted of efficient and dynamic professionals", summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
