The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii held a working virtual meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Ukraine Päivi Laine today, January 21.
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the transport sector, in particular in the railway sector.
Vladyslav Kryklii informed about the Ministry's plans to prepare and implement a high-speed railway project in Ukraine, which is one of the priorities for the Government. Initially, it will provide for the construction of a railway line with a speed of up to 250 km/h and modern infrastructure for InterCity services and container transportation in the direction of the EU. A number of foreign companies have already expressed interest in this project. The Minister also shared the agency's plans for structural reform of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The event was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Dmytro Abramovych, representatives of the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
