Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Koval and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic Richard Takáč signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry.
The document envisages, among other things, cooperation at the level of associations and farmers of Ukraine and Slovakia and the strengthening of direct horizontal ties between them.
In addition, the agriculture ministries of Ukraine and Slovakia will work together in the areas of livestock breeding, plant breeding and export development between the two countries. They will also pay attention to scientific research in agriculture.
“Ukrainian and Slovak farmers need to understand each other. This is the key to long and mutually beneficial cooperation. The experience of our partners is important to us. At the same time, we also have something to share. Our farmers continue to sow and harvest in extremely difficult conditions, and Ukraine continues to ensure food security for the world,” said Vitalii Koval.
The Ukrainian Minister expressed his belief that cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries would only grow stronger. He also invited his Slovak counterpart to join in supporting Ukrainian farmers in the frontline regions. Vitalii Koval pointed out that this was not just a question of grants, but also of opening joint Ukrainian-Slovak enterprises for deep processing.
