On March 1, the Canada-Ukraine Agricultural Forum was held in Kyiv to discuss current challenges in Ukraine's agricultural and retail sectors and opportunities for cooperation between Canadian and Ukrainian companies and investors.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, and experts. In particular, the participants focused on the revival of the agricultural sector, opportunities, dynamics, and trends in bilateral trade.
"The Forum will promote Ukrainian-Canadian cooperation in the agricultural sector, establish relations between representatives of the agricultural business of the countries and attract investments. Such cooperation is relevant not only at the interstate level, but also at the private level. That is, at the level of coordination and cooperation within private business," said Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Holovnia.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukraine and Canada were among the key players in ensuring global food security. However, we now need the support of our partners to provide seeds and fertilizers for the successful sowing campaign. Canada is one of these partners.
"I wish the forum participants to develop effective mechanisms of cooperation as soon as possible. This is a unique moment for global companies that want to enter the Ukrainian agricultural business. We are ready for such cooperation," summarized Vitalii Holovnia.
