The day before, the Pension Fund of Ukraine financed UAH 2.2 billion to pay UAH 8,000 as one-time financial assistance to 280,000 people. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Government on December 23.
Denys Shmyhal reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers extended the deadline for submitting applications until December 31, and the number of submitted applications has already exceeded the mark of 300,000.
"It is important that payments should begin today, which is an unprecedented level of efficiency in the organization of such assistance," said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also called on Ukrainians, both entrepreneurs and ordinary workers, whose economic activities will be temporarily suspended due to intensified quarantine in January, to actively register in order to receive UAH 8,000 as financial assistance from the state.
At the same time, according to Denys Shmyhal, the Government is expanding the social guarantee for recipients of housing subsidies so that those who receive partial unemployment benefits can receive both these benefits and the subsidy without hindrance.
"The project concerns almost 400,000 people receiving partial unemployment benefits, including almost 180,000 individual entrepreneurs," the Prime Minister stressed.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the relevant decision during its session.
