First meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Comprehensive Sustainability Plans for Regions and Cities summoned
The first meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Comprehensive Sustainability Plans for Regions and Cities took place. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“We are ensuring systematic work on the implementation of the plans. To this end, we have identified and assigned those responsible for key areas,” the Prime Minister said.
1. Protection of critical infrastructure facilities — Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba and Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Development Serhii Sukhomlyn.
2. Development of distributed electricity and heat generation — First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration — Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
3. Ensuring uninterrupted heat supply, water supply, and wastewater disposal — Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration — Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba and heads of regional military administrations (RMAs).
4. Creating conditions for attracting businesses to implement measures for comprehensive regional sustainability plans, in particular by introducing simplified procedures and appropriate regulatory decisions — Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev and Head of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission Yurii Vlasenko.
Special priority — frontline regions and the capital.
The issue of preparing a sustainability plan for Kyiv was discussed in detail, and the Cabinet expects it to be submitted by the city authorities by Tuesday.
"We start financing the implementation of the plans. We allocate the first UAH 10 billion from the reserve fund to ensure the implementation of sustainability plans. The heads of regional military administrations and city councils are personally responsible for the implementation of the plans. We are working together on the strategic restructuring of our energy system and preparing for the next heating seasons," emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
The next meetings of the Coordination Center will take place according to a set schedule, including in a field format in the frontline regions.
