On November 5, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted in support of the draft State Budget for 2021 in the first reading. 275 lawmakers voted in favor.
During the preparation of the document for the first reading, the People's Deputies, factions, groups and committees of the Verkhovna Rada set forth 2451 proposals to the draft State Budget-2021, submitted by the Government to the Parliament on September 14.
Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko thanked the members of the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada and all deputies for their cooperation and proposals.
He noted that the draft budget for 2021 elaborated by the Ministry of Finance is quite balanced and realistic to implement.
"It's not just a financial estimate. It is a tool for the development and growth of the country. The 2021 budget provides for expenditures to finance the priority needs of the state. Taxpayers' money will be used effectively, will pay off and benefit people and the economy. We will be able to cope with the coronavirus-inflicted crisis, ensure financial stability, restore the economy and increase the welfare of citizens," Serhii Marchenko stressed during a report in Parliament.
