The timely start of the heating season in all Ukrainian cities is direct responsibility of the local authorities, and the Government, on its part, provided them with all necessary resources. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government sitting.
"We demonstrate positive dynamics in the preparation of cities for the heating season. It's just over 10 days left before the launch of the heating season. But here it is necessary to look not only at calendar, but at a thermometer. Ukrainians need to receive hot water and heating according to the scheduled plan. The financial resources allocated for the preparation allow to prepare qualitatively, so that people do not feel any discomfort. Thus, local leaders should have high responsibility", Volodymyr Groysman said.
He placed a special emphasis on the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers approved a special decision that obliges Naftogaz of Ukraine and distribution companies to conclude all necessary contracts with consumers, to restructure debts, if case of accumulation, and to ensure the scheduled start of the heating season no later than October 15.
"Instead of pointing fingers, we ought to spare no effort to provide citizens with the heating", the Head of Government noted. "The decree of the Cabinet of Ministers fully regulates all the problematic issues".
He also drew attention to the fact that the launch of water and heat supply is a test for indifference and understanding that people should live in comfort.
Moreover, the Prime Minister commissioned Vice Prime Minister Hennadii Zubko to hold an All-Ukrainian conference call meeting on checking the state of preparations for the winter on October 4.
