Vasyl Lozynskyy: Almost UAH 1.5 billion has been allocated from the reserve fund of the State Budget for the restoration of critical infrastructure of communities
Almost UAH 1.5 billion has been allocated from the reserve fund of the State Budget for the reconstruction of the territories liberated from russian troops. These are Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions. First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Vasyl Lozynskyy told during the webinar "Planning to restore the critical infrastructure of communities: public buildings, water supply and sewerage, heating and hot water." A series of webinars for Ukrainian communities was organized by the European Union's Covenant of Mayors East project.
"As a result of hostilities throughout the country, thousands of schools, kindergartens, medical facilities, residential buildings, etc. were either damaged or destroyed. Therefore, the Government is actively working to ensure that the process of rebuilding community infrastructure begins as soon as possible. At present, almost UAH 1.5 billion has been allocated for these purposes from the reserve fund of the State Budget. A number of legislative acts developed by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development have been drafted to facilitate the implementation of such works promptly. At the same time, during the reconstruction, we should focus on the principle of "doing better than before". The new buildings must, in particular, meet modern requirements for energy efficiency and safety of human life," stressed the First Deputy Minister.
It should be noted that the Covenant of Mayors East project is a long-term reliable partner of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development in the course of implementation of reforms, inter alia in the field of energy efficiency of buildings. At present, in this difficult time of war, it is also a reliable assistant for communities in meeting their priority humanitarian needs, organizing the restoration of infrastructure, public and residential buildings, and so on.
