Immunization with CoronaVac vaccine against COVID-19 manufactured by Sinovac Biotech starts in Ukraine today. To this end, the Ministry of Health has completed all necessary inspections and tests of the drug. This was announced by the Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov during a briefing.

"CoronaVac is a development of the world-famous company Sinovac Biotech, which produces hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines a year and supplies them to more than 35 countries. Ukraine received the first batch of 215,000 doses of this vaccine. A total of 1.9 million doses were contracted. The remaining 1.7 million will arrive soon. We are counting on deliveries during April-May this year," Maxym Stepanov said.

The first batch of CoronaVac vaccines will be distributed primarily among low-mobility groups and their caregivers, social workers. Vaccinations will also be organized for educators involved in the organization and conduct of external evaluation, for Ukrainian Olympic and Paralympic athletes preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, representatives of the National Police and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
