National Health Screening 40+ Programme triggers in Ukraine: when and how to use the service

Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 02 January 2026 12:02

The National Health Screening Programme 40+, aimed at the early detection of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health problems for Ukrainians aged 40+, began operating on the first day of 2026. And by the end of this month, Ukrainians aged 40 and over will begin to receive their first notifications and invitations to undergo screening.

How it works

  • Invitations to screening will be sent to the Diia app on the 30th day following the birthday of people aged 40 and over.
  • After confirming participation in the programme, UAH 2,000 shall be credited to the Diia Card within seven days. The funds can only be used to pay for screening.
  • For those who do not use the Diia app, it is possible to apply for a bank card and submit an application through a Center for Administrative Services Provision. This can be done during 30 days after your birthday.

The National Health Screening 40+ includes:

  • questionnaires and assessment of individual risks (in particular, cardiovascular disease, risk of type 2 diabetes and mental health);
  • physical examination (blood pressure measurement, heart rate and rhythm assessment, anthropometry);
  • laboratory tests showing the functioning of the heart, blood vessels and kidneys;
  • individual recommendations from a doctor regarding lifestyle and health status, and, if necessary, prescription of medication or recommendation for further examination or treatment.
